Once again we are extremely grateful
to the SIMO volunteers. The final count on the race was 191 registered

keep everything going smoothly! We are glad that those who helped seemed to have an enjoyable time as well. I do hope we can partner again for future events. Many, many thanks! -- Robyn M. Many, many thanks to you all for your outstanding help this past Saturday. Everywhere at the event were enthusiastic, capable, and indefatigable volunteers, each handling her or his post courteously and professionally. Each of you went above and beyond what was expected in terms of your engagement with guests, handling of physical challenges, and good cheer in the face of chaos. Again, and quite simply put, thank you. -- John Rogers, Office Administrator, Providence Preservation Society -- "Winter Bash" -- February 2010

On behalf of the WARM Center I would like to extend our gratitude for your service at the WARM Hearts Winter Gala. Once again the volunteers that came to work our event were punctual, efficient friendly and truly a wonderful addition to our event. WARM was able to raise over $25,000.00 at this year's event, which in this economy is fantastic. Your support in our fund raising events directly helps the hungry and homeless in our community and we are grateful for your time. We look forward to seeing you in May for our 5krun-3k walk. Sunny spring wishes to you all, -- Joy Cordio, Volunteer Coordinator -- March 2010

Thank you again. -- Mary Ellen Rivet - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-RI Branch -- October2007
...please pass along the heartfelt thanks of the George Wiley Center for the wonderful work you and your team of volunteers did at our Auction last Wednesday evening. In two important ways it was the most successful auction we have ever held. We made more money, and it ran more smoothly than ever. Both results are undoubtedly due to your good advice and to the expertise and efficiency of the SIMO volunteers. You folks really know what you are doing. It was so generous of you all to give us your time and talent. Your good work will further Wiley Center's mission to end the need for low-income Rhode Islanders having to choose whether to Heat or Eat this winter. -- Cathy Collette - President George Wiley Center Auction 2007
You are quick! And have taken most of the words right out of my mouth! Your crew was fantastic and on behalf of the zoo want to thank you for such tremendous energy and enthusiasm. Although I was really too tired to hang out and enjoy the event, I did make an appearance and saw many of the SIMO Volunteers in action. To a person they were pleasant and busy. Please pass on my gratitude for a job well done! I would love to get your feedback on how the assignments went. If you have suggestions for a better structure, if anyone felt their position was too much or not enough, etc. We can improve the event and the volunteer experience with such feedback and are always open to making changes. My experience is that it is the volunteers who become the eyes and ears of the visitor experience, not just for special events but all year long. I loved your observation about the guests being unpretentious and pleasant. I think it is one of the things that make Zoobilee such an unusual event. Well, again, thanks for all! -- Wayne Wohlschlegel - Roger Williams Park Zoo, Zoobilee 2007
Thanks so much for volunteering at this year's Sunset Music Festival. It is only though the efforts of people like you that we are able to continue to provide programs and services to children with autism. Thanks so much for helping us out at our recent Buddy Walk. Your volunteers handed out over 300 T-shirts, not to mention setting up the buffet. It was a GREAT time and we'd have been lost without your help! Thanks Again, -- Claudia Lowe - Down Syndrome Society of RI, Buddy Walk, September 2006
Please forgive the group e-mail. But it's my way of making sure you don't get thanked in November for the wonderful thing you did in August... And it was wonderful. The golf tournament quite simply would not take place at all if it weren't for gracious, dedicated volunteers like you. You were patient through the brief spurts of chaos, welcoming to our guests, forgiving in the face of a volunteer shortage that caused you to be "stuck" without relief in the same position (NOT the original plan) and just plain fun to work with! Sometimes I feel like a 12-armed octopus when an event like the golf tournament is in full swing (pun intended). Thank you for being 10 of those arms. You made it all so smooth. The golfers had a wonderful time an the event netted a new best in 23 years of the event! -- Andrea Miller, Events Manager, Providence Children's Museum, Golf Tournament, August 2006
I am happy to report that we came very close to completing all scope items at Chad Brown Street on Rebuild Day. This was a significant achievement for the ten volunteers that joined us for the entire day, and one additional volunteer helping out for the second half. Every year, I am more and more impressed by the level of dedication and enthusiasm expressed by the Rebuild Day volunteers. As out team broke for lunch on Saturday, I was thinking that we would never finish by the end of the day. In my past years experience, most volunteers work so hard in the morning that by 2:30 pm they start to filter out, but not this year! The eleven volunteers we had from RI Singles in M'Ocean and RI PBS were relentless in their desire to complete the project. As 4:00 pm came and went, we had to pry the volunteers off their ladders when National Grid came to pick up the supplies. I can honestly say that I have never had a more dedicated group of volunteers - it was inspirational to see them keep going. -- Matt Bessette, Site Captain, Chad Brown Street, Rebuilding Providence Together, 2006
I just wanted to let you know that the volunteers last night were terrific! They are professional and courteous and it is a pleasure to work with such a fine group of people. -- Kerri Fitzgerald, Development & Volunteer Coordinator, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Rhode Island Rock-N-Jock Charities Benefit Concert for Make-A-Wish Foundation, July 2006
Thanks again for all of your help from all of us here at the zoo. Despite the rain the turn out from the SIMO volunteers and their good cheer and helpfulness were tremendous. We really could not do this event without the help of so many volunteers. Please extend our heart felt thanks to all the SIMO members who helped make this year as successful as it was. I hope you will put the last Saturday of June on your 2007 calendar. -- Wayne Wohlschlegel, Manager of Volunteer Resources, Roger Williams Park Zoo Zoobilee Feast With the Beasts, June 2006
I can't thank you enough. We could not have done this without all of you. We raised a record $305,000 for heart and stroke research and education in RI on Saturday night. Thank you !!!! -- Pam Bhatia, Director of Corporate Events,American Heart Association , Heart Ball, June 2006
Please accept and pass on my sincerest thanks to the folks who volunteered Saturday at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! What a wonderful group - and incredibly efficient. We would certainly be lucky and pleased to have you volunteer at other events - many more glamorous than mine. You accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time and your help makes a big difference in getting this program off the ground. Thank you all again. -- Deb Watterson, Campaign Manager, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - RI Chapter Pennies for Patients Preparation, January 2006
I wanted to thank you and the members of SIMO for all the help, without which, there just is no Zoobilee. I had the opportunity to observe many of you in action over the course of the evening as I enjoyed the party as a guest. All whom I saw demonstrated an enthusiasm and openness to engage the guests and support the staff that made for a very successful partnership. I hope that you will mark the last Saturday in June as a permanent addition to your community service calendar. Please know that as our largest annual fund raiser, Zoobilee is an important way to support the research, conservation work and education that is the mission of the zoo. Your help was critical to that effort and greatly appreciated. -- Wayne Wohlschlegel, Manager of Volunteer Resources, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Feast With the Beasts, June 2005
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our volunteers who made Karen's Retirement Party such a wonderful success. There were many remarks that the event was relaxed and a pleasure to attend. This couldn't have been accomplished without you, our hardworking volunteers. Thank you again for all of your help! -- Kelly Fenton - Visitor Services and Volunteer Manager - Providence Children's Museum
