Calling all animal lovers!  The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISCPA) is dedicated to crusading for the rights and welfare of all animals, great and small, through legal, educational, legislative and investigative means.  At 140 years old, it is was the first humane society in Rhode Island and the third oldest in the United states.  To learn more about the RISPCA, please visit their website at:

Please join us for an event that promises to be a howling good time - the Marvelous Marvin Memorial Walk.   This year, the RISPCA's Annual Summer Walk fundraiser is being held in memory of their shelter mascot, Marvin.   During his lifetime, Marvin visited hundreds of nursing homes, hospitals and schools and helped raise over $170,000 for the shelter through sales of his artwork and book telling his inspirational story.  
 
The RISPCA is looking for 8 volunteers to assist at this event with registration, selling raffle tickets, food and water service and helping with break down after the event.  Coffee and donuts will be available; volunteers may also purchase lunch for a small donation.
